American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is the idea of a retired school principal who first mooted the proposal of
health insurance for this neglected segment of the society. Since its inception,
AARP Health Insurance is in the forefront of helping people in the age group of 50 years and above for their insurance needs. It has emerged as the largest non-profit organization in the US dedicated to its members for all their health insurance requirements. With over 35 million insurance members, AARP is certainly a behemoth of an organization.
AARP not just provides varied basic
health insurance products for people of 50 years of age and above, the organization also offers long-term care, life insurance, and medical care along with a supplementary policy to take care of the health needs of its members. AARP Health Insurance, undoubtedly, ranks among the best in the US for its commitment towards its members who need the maximum attention from the fellow citizens.
AARP Health Insurance does not make much profit and whatever little it makes, it is out of the portion of finance used for sales and member policy maintenance. However, the members can avail of sufficient and quality health care facilities when they are taken care of by AARP. In fact, AARP does not hold any of its policies. Instead, they have a relation with United Healthcare associations in a way that AARP works as a trusted third party member. Additionally, AARP Health Insurance has also entered into strategic partnerships with other organizations and individuals with a view to provide low-cost health products to its members.
